A Reason to Care…

I Love to support others. From speaking overseas to girls about the dangers of human trafficking. Supporting awareness about bullying, to educating about autism. Every month there is a cause to support, a reason to care and be concerned.

My reason for supporting such causes is simple. Everyone deserves a voice, everyone at some point has or will need someone else. Even if it is just a blog post, the purchase of a t- shirt or bracelet.

I don’t have children and even though I adore them, I don’t see any in my future.  I continue to educate myself on subjects of the sort. As an aunt or a friend, I may detect something in a child I’m often in contact with. Whether at church, family or friends home etc.

Parents are not perfect nor should we expect them to be. I have often said… “Parents should spend more time with their children and get more involved.” I have been taking more time to observe the lifestyle of family and friends with children. Single parent families and families with both parents. I must say, it is hard! Through first hand observation and asking questions about an average day, finances, etc. Single parent families have it much harder.

The student to teacher ratio is ridiculous! We cannot expect them to detect and a variety of emotional, learning and other issues with so many personalities in one class. I agree we need more teachers but we also need to pay them more. The salary a teacher receives is not even close to what they deserve (I digress, that is another post all together).

As a person who loves to speak up for others, I will continue to educate myself and others.
